The constant noise of everyday life inspires the visual thoughts that fuel my creative process. The clutter of pop culture that invades daily news adds and sometimes takes center stage in the chatter that occupies my mind. My work is the remark on the day-to-day chatter of the world, which I then translate into ocular form. Whether the exposition is on popular songs stuck in my head, trying to find the balance between being “Drunk in Love” or accepting that being a “Royal” doesn’t run in my blood; or be it the media’s commentary on a certain topic in pop culture, that irritates me enough to desire to share my own personal commentary. Sounds heavily influence my visual process, whether it is the actual sounds that inspire the art or the constant noise I surround myself with while creating my work. I struggle with songs stuck in my head to isolate certain sound cues to create a single piece or series. The single notion of one thought is usually portrayed through my work with computer illustration and design. Although, traditional methods of pencil and paper are not neglected, they are merely the building blocks of my design process. With these tools I aim to portray my opinions in a playful manner on instances involving celebrities as well the music that continuously plays in my head. I find inspiration from not only the lyrics stuck in my head but also the artist behind the performance therefore sometimes I choose to depict them as well. Certain lyrics and artist are portrayed through computer illustrations as well drawings.
