My fascination with the beauty and grace of animals has been a vast source of inspiration for my artwork, which always consists of using wildlife as metaphors for impactful moments in my life, whether they be positive or negative; emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, social, or sexual. I believe that certain animals suggest embodiments of particular characteristics which can be easily recognized by the viewer due to a collective idea of what the animal represents in our culture. Having these conscious, and sometimes unconscious, associations helps to strengthen the feeling I strive to create in my pieces.

Humor is a very important part of me, and it has been a personal quest of mine since a young age to find the humor in every aspect of life. This outlook always tends to surface in my artwork, giving my pieces a comical and quirky feel that always leaves the viewer with a smile on their face. I work in a range of styles, from realistic to abstract, colorful to black and white, elaborate to minimal. Much like my style, my medium of choice varies, though I frequently tend to favor pen, marker, and watercolor. While I am heavily inspired by the natural world around me, I also draw inspiration from several different artists and their aesthetic method, such as Walton Ford’s metaphors, Ralph Steadman’s ferocity, Jackson Pollock’s energy, Andy Warhol’s color, and Roy Lichtenstein’s simplification.
