I choose to paint figures and architectures as a budding artist; I believe the lessons I learn through mastering them will open the door to guide me in other directions I may take in the future. My work is about a depth beyond what is visually seen. Behind what we see is an always energetic world of uncontrollable forces, pushing and pulling people and their retaliations, and their environment. Negative space and lighting in my work is forceful and invasive like something in your world you can't control. I must always avoid smashing and trapping paint into the texture of the canvas, instead letting it be active and free. Brush strokes are thoughtful, working together like a formula to create lively tones.
